The Institute of Engineering Thermophysics (IET, http://www.etp.ac.cn/) originated from the Power Laboratory of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), founded in 1956 by Academician Chunghua WU, the founder of three-dimensional flow theory. At present, it has developed into a research institute combining Dynamic & Electric Engineering and Energy Science & Technology in strategic advanced technology.
The institute has 512 staff members, including two CAS academicians, 60 research professors and 122 associate research professors. The institute has been authorized to confer Doctorate and Master’s degrees to candidates in the areas of Dynamic Engineering & Engineering Thermophysics and to confer Master’s degree in the fields of Environmental Science & Engineering and Aerospace Science & Technology. The institute also has a post-doctoral research station in the area of Dynamic Engineering & Engineering Thermophysics. The institute has made remarkable achievements in talent cultivation.
The research areas of the institute focus on clean and efficient utilization of fossil energy resources, advanced light-duty engines, distributed power and energy storage, solar thermal utilization, wind energy utilization, advanced industrial gas turbine, super heat transfer, and advanced layout unmanned aerial vehicles.
There are ten research units National Energy Wind Turbine Blade R & D Center, Research Center for Energy and Power, Laboratory of Light-duty Gas-turbine, Laboratory of Circulating Fluidized Bed, and Distributed Generation with Renewable Energy Laboratory, Energy Storage R & D Center, Heat and Mass Transfer Research Center, Advanced Gas Turbine Laboratory, Unmanned Aircraft Laboratory, Advanced Technology Laboratory.

n Academic Leader
Candidates should have extensive international academic influence or have mastered key core technologies and can solve key technical problems through research in natural science and engineering technology. The candidate should have Science & Technology leadership and team-organizing ability.
Candidates should also have experience as a professor or equivalent in a well-known research institution, university or large enterprise research and development institution. Exceptional scholars with associate professor or equivalent work experience could be considered.
Candidates should not be over 50 years old.
n Senior Scientific Research Fellow
Candidates may conduct independent research in the natural sciences and engineering technology. Candidates should have excellent innovation potential and strong teamwork abilities.
Candidates should have at least 3 years of research experience (including 3 years) in a well-known research institution, university or large enterprise research and development institution after obtaining a doctoral degree or have experience as an associate professor or equivalent
Candidates should not be over 40 years old.
n Research Assistant/ Postdoctoral Research Fellow
Candidates should have doctoral degrees and outstanding innovative research results in areas of expertise required above and excellent potential for scientific and technological innovation.
Candidates should not be over 35 years old.
